Review of economic development policies in the GCR

This project will be a comprehensive review of existing economic policies/strategies as part of orientating the programme to unpack what Inclusive Economies means and is understood across the GCR. The review will use policy and planning documents as a core resource and will interview key informants. The project aim is to (a) scope the existing economic activities being undertaken by provincial and local government and what these reveal about understandings of inclusive economies and how it can be achieved. The review will build on existing literature on types of activities that regional and local government undertake, with a specific focus on rescaling and inequality.
