Economic trends for the GCR
The availability of SARS administrative data provides an opportunity to construct employment, GVA and other measures at a local government level. It is an opportunity that must be grasped as the data could inform provincial and local government data. Importantly, the data is available at metro and district levels and could be intergrated into existing spatial data. The project consists of two components. The first component is descriptive exploration of the data. The second component is understanding the possibility of using data to support industrial policies at regional and local economic development. Potentially a model will be constructed that predicts possible growth.
