Postdoctoral Researcher joins the GCRO Off-Grid Cities Project

Dr. Brian Murahwa joined the GCRO as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Off-Grid Cities Project in November 2022. As part of the project, he focuses on the governance of water and energy resources in Gauteng's elite suburbs. He is a recent PhD graduate from the University of the Witwatersrand’s School of Architecture and Planning. He also holds a Masters in Labour Policy and Globalisation from the Global Labour University at Wits University. An interdisciplinary urbanist, his research interests lie at the intersection of theory and practice in the fields of urban planning and management, migration, religious urbanism, precarious labour and climate justice. The GCRO is happy to welcome Dr Murahwa to the team.
