Kerry Bobbins, one of M&G’s Top 200 Young South Africans
Researcher Kerry Bobbins was selected from 2 000 applicants as one of Africa’s 100 Brightest Minds in 2015 for her commitment toward achieving positive social change. As part of award, she was invited to attend the Brightest Mind Summit, which was held in Johannesburg from 16 – 20 July 2015. During the summit she applied her skills as part of a team to design practical solutions to address social challenges in the rest of Africa through devising sustainable initiatives that have a positive social impact. Now a member of the Brightest Young Minds Network, she has access to leadership and development opportunities part of the broader programme.
Kerry was also recently selected as one of the Mail and Guardian’s Top 200 Young South Africansfor her work on environmental governance. A proponent of green infrastructure, Kerry was acknowledged for her environmental research at the science-policy interface and for her dedication to informing environmental planning at the municipal level. Kerry attended the unveiling event on 30 July 2015, where the Mail and Guardian launched their special feature on this year’s Top 200 South Africans.
