GCRO takes the Quality of Life findings to metros and districts in Gauteng

  • Date of publication: 10 February 2025

After the launch of the GCRO Quality of Life Survey 7 (2023/24) in October 2024, there were several requests from stakeholders to learn more about the survey results. In January 2025, the GCRO was invited to present these results at various regional Integrated Development Planning (IDP) workshops. The first workshop included representatives from the metropolitan municipalities of Ekurhuleni, Johannesburg, and Tshwane, where Shannon Arnold and Rashid Seedat presented the survey findings.

Two additional workshops were held in the District Municipalities: one with West Rand, presented by Christian Hamann, and another with Sedibeng, presented by Shamsunisaa Miles-Timotheus and Yashena Naidoo. These presentations allowed local government officials to explore the survey results and consider their implications for future planning in each municipality and district. The engagement with the data was positive and fostered opportunities for future collaboration between the GCRO and local municipalities in Gauteng.
