GCRO presents at international political science congress

Recently Annsilla travelled to Spain in order to present a paper at the International Political Science Association (IPSA) conference ‘Reshaping Power: Shifting Boundaries’ 22nd World Congress. This allowed her the opportunity to visit Madrid, Bilbao and Barcelona, in order to meet with key stakeholders and explore the developmental trajectory of these key cities in Spain. The extended time in Spain helped provide an international perspective to GCRO’s ‘Conceptualising the Gauteng City-Region (GCR)’ work, particularly the ways in which we live and experience the GCR and make sense of its challenges and potential. Importantly, it also stimulated critical thinking about the kinds of strategy and policy interventions which would best support the GCR.
